Live Oak’s Barbacoa is inspired by a school food team member’s family recipe! Reflecting the cultural heritage of many district students, this flavorful, slow-cooked dish uses locally sourced ingredients.
Cupertino Union’s recipe relies on a rich gravy, chock full of hearty vegetables. Always striving for yummier meals, the school food team serves this curry alongside breaded chicken and rice.
Monterey Peninsula’s school food team celebrates the traditional Korean dish of Kimchi, incorporating locally sourced Napa cabbage. Students appreciate the menu’s inclusion of cultural food!
San Luis Coastal’s school food team sources local ingredients for this recipe – with students growing the basil! The burger represents students’ request for more plant-forward options and features house-made coleslaw and green apples.
San Francisco Unified’s school food team knew students loved pasta, but were tired of its traditional variations. So, they developed this taco-style spin! The bolognese sauce combines ground turkey, spices, bell peppers, onions and stewed tomatoes.
