Best Take on a Culinary Trend

Creatively blends contemporary flavors, culinary techniques or trending ingredients in a surprising and modern school food recipe. 

Best Farm to School Recipe

Emphasizes the use of fresh, locally sourced and seasonal ingredients. 

Best Culturally Relevant Recipe

Authentically represents a dish that is meaningful to the cultural or ethnic heritage of part of the student population.

Win Exclusive Prizes and Gain Media Recognition. Winners of the Powered by School Food Professionals Awards will be:

  • Recognized nationally as models for advancing school food change in California.
  • Eligible for Prizes, including an all-expenses-paid trip for two team members to Los Angeles and an invitation to an exclusive celebratory event, where you will have the opportunity to share your story with national press and your winning recipe will be highlighted on the event menu. School food teams will also be given a personalized award that acknowledges their impact.

If you work in a California K-12 public school food program, you can submit for your program or on behalf of another California K-12 school food program. Share how the nominated program is making a positive impact on student health and well-being through nutritious scratch-cooked meals, creative menus, or education-based food initiatives.
